Help Anthiinae stuck in the back chamber

I have JBJ Nano Cube but my Anthiinae fish is stuck in the back chamber of the filter. :furious:
I tried many DIY traps but none of them worked. :headwally:
I've gone here for help. Any suggestions? The chamber is too small and is "maze-like" in a way.
Whenever I move the net towards the fish is goes to another, unreachable chamber.

sorry to hear that man.
Sometimes the fish go into unreachable areas and just cant be rescued.
Your only option is to try to completely drain your tank and maybe turn it upside down to try and retrieve the fish.

That is an unrealistic plan on getting the fish. I dont nor have i ever owned a nano but can you not remove basically everything from that back area? You could shut off pumps and remove all filtration and whatever else you can to try and reach it. Maybe try leaving the net in there so the fish gets use to it and maybe even uses it as cover then you can just scoop it up. Good luck. That does sound like a bad situation.

Can you fit a siphon hose large enough for the fish to fit thru into the area it's in? If so, siphon it out into a bucket. Should be fine after that.

I read of people filling their overflows with rocks in order to force the fish to the top, but I'm not sure how feasible that is with your nano.

Get a small hook, remove the barb, put some food on it, fish him out?

I have no experience with a tank like this but from what you said it seems like you're able to get a net back there in certain locations. Before taking any drastic measures I would recommend placing the largest net you can fit as deep as you can and leave it there for a bit. When the fish gets comfortable with the net it will most likely wonder around again. At this point I would try to catch the fish by quickly snatching him in the net. It may take a few attempts over several days but this has worked with me in somewhat similar situations.

I would drain the back chamber down (not completely though), take a wad of paper towels and push it through the chamber to force the fish to one side and block it from getting to the other. Once the fish is confined, it should be easy to grab.

I had the same issue twice. Once with a firefish and once with a Royal Gramma in a Biocube I had a long time ago. Unfortunately, you will just have to keep trying to catch him with the net. I spent about 3 hours doing this before I finally got lucky. I had to remove my pump and all of the bioballs and filter pad. They both were a little stressed for a day or 2 but are still alive today.
