Help! Bio-Balls/ Oceanic Plus Series Sump

i recieved a sump local, it is a oceanic plus series sump. it has a chamber for bio-balls and room for a skimmer and then sections that i can put carbon sacs. i have been in the hobby for about a year. i have never used bio-balls. what do you guys think? the tank is going to be a 55gal FOWLR.

i use em in my sump and they work great but if you want to use live rock you can do that too
