HELP! Blennie jumped in overflow!

He's now been in there for 3 days. I don't know how to catch him. I've got the return pipe and a durso in there so there is no room for a net. Any time I put a stick or anything in there he just goes to the bottom where I can't see him.

How do I get him out of there? I'm thinking I might have to go get a 1" line and suck him out of there. I don't want to do it, but it might be the only way. Any other suggestions?

What about butchering a net so its long and thin instead of wide? you'd probably be able to stick it down there then

If you have a length of tubing that has a large enough diameter just siphon him out along with the water in the overflow.

This is very ironic. I have a bicolor blennie that I noticed missing a couple days back. After searching for a carpet surfer I noticed him from underneath in the overflow. There is quite a bit of algae for him to live on for awhile. Plus I sprinkle a bit of food in there for him. (I have to wait until I have some help to remove my canopy to gain access.) In my previous (other) tank 55 gal I had a tank raised percula that REPEATEDLY did the same. He drove me nuts. The perc was able to squeeze through the teeth of the overflow whereas I think this blennie must have jumped. Anyway...I bent a couple of nets into convienent shapes to catch that percula. Still wasn't easy though. One time he went all the way to the sump...was caught between a couple of drip trays. One day the perc was missing (again) but never did find him . I'm breaking down this tank in the next few weeks and if I find him somewhere weird in the plumbing it won't surprise me. Living??? Don't think I'd be surprised. Meanwhile..my blennie will have to wait awhile

I've tried multiple "altered" nets. It just doesn't work. The problem is a blennie doesn't stay in open water like a regular fish. It can bend it's body and wrap wround the pipes making it near impossible. I'm going to have to get some 1" pipe and suck him out. I hate to do it, but it's the only way. Actually leaving to go get the pipe now. I'll let you guys know how it goes!

Wish me luck!
