This frag has been doing great for the past year but suddenly starting a month ago the lower edge turned brown and has slowly spread as pictured below.

My phosphate and nitrate are unmeasurable, hardness is between 107 and 125 ppm and pH 8.3 and salinity 1.026.

I have carbon, good skimmer in a sump, 40 gallons total with BC29. Radeon light.

I have not seen any pests except some planaria a month ago but they are no longer present.

What is this, is there a treatment?

Any advise would be significantly appreciated.

I'm no expert I have trouble with my Cyphastrea also, I've had it for well over a year and it seems like it takes a crap every few months. I move it to an area I think it might like better, they seem like they like lower light better. It comes back looks awesome seems like it growing, then bam happens again. Just had to move it for the third time. So try moving it into a lower light area and see if that helps.

Do you use gfo, I just spoke to someone about mine, and she asked if it happened to coincide with when I added my gfo.

You have No Nutrients in the Water.

Zero Nitrate and Zero Phosphate is Very Bad for LPS.

They also want Low Light.

I have mine in low light and it has encrusted quite a bit but it seems like it is pretty sensitive to salinity changes. It seems to struggle if I slack on top off.

I had my meteor shower cyphastrea brown out on me when I first bought it. It has since adapted to my tank and takes quite a bit of light and is growing vigorously. Only thing I can think is that I light shocked it.
