Help! Brain dying!!!

My step father is not on here but called today with a problem with his brain coral. It started receding in the last day and is almost all gone. Can this be saved and if so, how? It's dying real fast so any help is appreciated. Water parameters were mostly in good with PH being low. It was about 7.6.

I'd cut off ant dead tissue, dip in lugols, and place in low flow low light area.

I would just place it in a low flow low light area and hope for the best. I have done this before and all turned out well. Dipping may be to much stress?

Do you have any ideas what started the receding? PH?

I'd try the dip to sterilize the infection regardless of the added stress.
