Help...clown gobies recurring disease

Hello all, I have a JBJ 28g nano reef that's been running about 2 1/2 months. There was an initial outbreak of ich on my clownfish, firefish and flame angel, but they defeated it completely months ago with the addition of a cleaner wrasse and good parameters. However...

In that period I have tried FIVE different clown gobies and each one has come down with white spots (I can only assume ick) and died. I do not get it. I've never heard of ick staying in the system for months and only attacking ONE SPECIES relentlessly!

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this kind of thing?

Ich does not just "go away". It can remain in a system unnoticed for years. The only proven way to get rid of it is to remove all fish for twelve weeks and treat them in a separate hospital tank. The stickies above will explain the lifecycle and treatment options.
