Help! Clown is Swimming Vertically

Hi,

I got a pair of snowflake clowns last Sunday and fed them for the first time last night. One of the pair is fine, the other one is swimming very lethargically vertically and looks like it is hyperventilating. The vertical swimming has been going on for hours now. I did a WC when I first got them and just did a 25% WC now, but any ideas????

Thanks so much,

Ryan

WCs don't work miracles. This fish could have any of several problems that are really impossible to diagnose like this. The fact that the other fish is fine would rule out several things, like water conditions, But I'd check ammonia anyhow. Why did you wait so long to feed them. It didn't hurt the fish, but most folks are in a real hurry to see fish eat. IMO, there are a lot more fish underfed than overfed. Any other fish in the tank?

Corals are fine too, no signs of stress. They came from an established tank so i wasn't worried about them not eating and wanted to give them a little time to acclimate. Just the two of them, no other fish, only inverts are a couple nassarius snails. I got a QT and am going to move him over...
