I have 2 ocellarius clownfish and i noticed that ocassionally they start shaking like they are having a seizure, anybody know what's going on with them. I tested my water and everything is normal.

Everything is fine - this is how they submit to each other. They one who does it the most will likleybecome male. Completely normal!

:)

Oh - and

I'm conserned because it reminds me of the cartoons where you see some something get shocked and their body shakes. This also happens when they are at opposite ends of the tank.

I do know what you're talking about how it reminds you of a cartoon. I can assure you that it's completely normal :)

If you want - go down to the bottom of the page for this forum and do a search on clown shaking - you'll find tons of threads about it.

Thanks for the help Kim, I looked through some of the other threads and feel much better now. These are my first saltwater fish and i paniced because it didn't look normal and i don't want to lose my first fish so soon.

Incidentally, some of my other fish have also done this (I'm thinking in particular of my Rusty Angelfish).

Alas...yes, your fish is normal. That's even good, establishing dominance, etc.

Good - I'm glad you feel better. It's a little scary at first - but you'll get to love it! :) It's their little clownfish dance...

I have a large black saddle clown, while he/she does have a partner I have caught it shivering to his own reflection before. LOL
