Help clownfish not well!

Hi there. I am completely new to this. I have been asking the shop at each stage what to do and my tank was ready 3 weeks ago for fish. I put a clown in first and then got another one. The first one was always very quiet and hiding below the filter etc. Last night the first clown fish died and the 2nd has started swimming a bit tilted. When I looked in the unit underneath the water steriliser was not on but hasnt been since the tank was set up (by the shop). What can I do to stop the other one from dying as well?

What do you think has happened to them? And how long will it take for the water steriliser to work?

Perhaps the water levels had spikes in them because your tank wasn't ready

Water change and test your water. Don't over feed for now.

You need to cycle your water longer. Do you have live rock or sand?

Do you have a test kit?? Check those parameters and your salinity!

just as an fyi, i read this and other sites like this for 2 weeks before i even set up my tank, there is a lot of good info on here, just take it real slow, and have fun! yes i am a noob, but just trying to help!

Ditto. My tank is still cycling and I've been on here for a year already.
