help clowns are fighting

I have a small orange and yellow tomatoe clown, and today i bought a noticably larger black and orange tomatoe clown hoping that they would pair up, well they started off by wiggily their tails at each other now they biteing and fighting each other, how long does it take for them to stop fighting and pair up.

It could take minutes or months (mine were almost a year) Or they could kill each other.. If they get really bad and are injuring each other you'll have to separate them.

i made an eggcrate cage for the new clown and is sitting in the tank, do you think this will help them get along?

Only intervene if they are injuring each other. Or if one stops eating / stays cowered in a corner / under a rock.. Otherwise just leave them be
