Help, Coral Death!

I have been trying to track down the cause for the last week. I have checked my water parameters, and all seems fine. My RO/DI is perfect, there is flow, light, small bio load, and great filtration (skimmer,bio pellet reactor, carbon reactor, live rock in sump)

The strangest thing is that other coral such as Red Planet are thriving while others are dying.

What corals are dying SPS orothers?
Red planet I would say is a very hardy SPS I have seen it growing and at it's best colors when things were not the best in my tank and when other corals were looking miserable.
what are your parameters: Temp PH Salinity Alk CA NO3 and PO4?
I would do some water changes and have some mixed water ready to go with larger water changes in case things go worse. Also change Carbon fewwquently the coming 2-3 weeks.
could anything have leached in the tank: Deetergants or copper ....

I just rechecked my water and here are my results. I think a water change is needed asap! I don't understand why my Nitrite got so high. I will cut back on feedings to every other day. I havent had any fish die either.

PHOSPHATE- 0.63

Water change and I would also add some bacteria to the system to reseed your filter bed. Definitly investigate what killed your bacteria or what caused the spike, Did any big fish die?
Your phosphate is also high. While i would never check for ammonia past cycling of the tank you might as well check it again. Are you sure your Nitrite reading is accurate?

I check the Nitrite twice to make sure and that was the result. This is strange. Could it be the Bio Pellets I added recently?

"When in doubt do a water change" has always been my motto. Should help stabilize things that you might be missing.
The nitrite level is odd, Is your tank new?

not new at all, it's almost been up for about a year now. I did do 2 major water changes last month after I was told by a fellow reefer to lower my alk. Turned out to be a major mistake, lowering my alk caused coral loss. I then did the 2 major water changes and things started to look better, until now. maybe they water changes caused my bacteria to die??

I doubt that . Most of the beneficial bacteria is on the surface of the glass , rock and sand.

what can cause Nitrite to be high other than dead fish?

Even though you have pellets I would suggest adding bacteria into your system via mb7 or other means to help build the bacteria population up. If you haven't been adding any this could be your source ofthe problem.
