Camden County.

Your alk is only at 4 now? Are you sure about that?

If that is the case, that from yesterday to today you went from 9 down to 4 that is a problem (and honestly I don't know the difference in all the alks you listed).

im from gwinnett

lol ya it the seachem test kit and it says to subtract the borate alk from the tot alk to get the carbonate alk, but i don't rly get it the kit says its good and when i test with my api it say 9 dkh

Receding from the base can also be a sign of a flow issue. There are so many factors that can be involved. Noting your current Ca and Alk is one thing, but SPS really crave stability, so how that numbers changes on a day to day basis is actually more important. Heavy parameters swings IMO generally cause more of a sudden tissue recession, so I would lean more towards trying to change the flow its receiving and go from there.

ya i moved him, and for my dkh its still at 9 i read the test wrong

I think people have correctly identified the issue youre having. Mag of 1000 is way too low. You can safely raise your mag 100pts perday (from my reading). Try adding some liquid mag and make sure you test regularly so you dont over dose. The mag should be 1300-1400. If you BN has lower flow that is prolly an issue too. They dont like direct strong flow but a moderate indirect flow would be adviseable. Usually this is a problem when they grow out and the orginal flow cant penetrate the branches to the base and it starts to receed and brown out from the lack of flow. Lighting is important, try to not shade it.

sps water quality require parameter stability with low nutrients.

can high cal cause this?

and i add mag im going to test it later tonight when i get home, but i tested my dkh again and it read 11 dkh but my other test is still testing 8.

i moved him down to the floor where there is the most flow in the tank but he didn't look much better today, so don't rly know what to think.
