Help curing live rock

Since the search function is only giving one month old threads, i will ask this question that im sure has been answer millions of times. What is the best way to cure rock in the tank where they are going to end or in a kiddie pool in the back of my house? This for my new reef tank, probably im going to be curing around 120lb.

I think the best thing to do for a new tank is to do it in the tank as this will kick start your cycle.

I'd also do water changes during the cycle too. Some say not to, but I did with my tank.
