Help Deciding on Right Tunze product

I have a 180 Perfecto tank, sps dominated, dual corner overflows and returns are standard. I already have a 6100 I bought from a fellow reefer and now want more for my SPS's.

Talking to some people I was informed a Wavebox will not let me get a good wave going with the standard overflows.

Looking at maybe 2 more pumps and a controller?...

is the 6100 controllable?

i can get a upgraded driver (?) and make the 6100 a 6200?

Then buy 1 more 6200 or similar and a dual controller?

I know...lots of questions

Looking to learn

Thanks

Roy

2 6100's will be plenty for a 180, it is not cost effective to upgrade a 6100 to a 6200, you could sell the 6100 buy a used 6200 and come out ahead. Just be sure you have a 61000 and not a 6000, the 6100 is the same in every respect, same motor- 6100.10, same driver, same prop, only the transformer is different. The transformer on a 6100 is part 7410.602, on a 6000 it is 7210.202.

hmmm....looks like the driver is a 7240.27 and the pump is a 6100.10, what would that be?...

And is it controllable?

Thanks for all your help

Roy

Either a 6000 or a 6100, as I said the only difference between the two is the transformer. Both are controllable.

Think I just got answers for my questions,

"TUNZE® Multicontroller 7095 is a digital control unit for all Turbelle® pumps fitted with driver 7240.26 and 7240.27"

but I found a number on the hockey puck part and it is the 7210.202. so it is a 6000. Correct?

so the "driver' is the 7240.27

the transformer is 7210.202

and the pump is 6001.10

all together that means???

It is a 6000, guy a 7410.602 transformer for it and you will double the flow, it becomes a 6100. Get a second 6100 and you should be all set.

Btw biker, I have pretty much the same setup with a wave box, the wave box even with the corner overflows produce a really nice wave. I would try out a wave box I am sure you will be impressed.

Why does "everyone else" tell me not to use a wavebox in my reg. ol 180 RR with corner overflows?

Can I still use it but just not have a large wave and still get good flow through the whole tank?

Is it hard to "dial in"to get the wave with no splash over???

also I am seeing some 6080's out there for real good prices. I know they are not controllable but would that be a sensible option also?...

say 2 more 6080's to my soon to be converted to a 6100 on a controller?

Thanks for all the ideas

I don't know why, the wave is shorter with corner overflows and there is a sloshing noise as water surges into the overflows but it definitely will work.

You have to keep in mind that the wavebox was never intended to be a sole source of flow, it creates a directionless wave that lifts and suspends debris and gets flow into nooks and crannies but it is intended for use with powerheads. You would still need a 6100 at a minimum and yes you could pair it with 6080's.

The wavebox would likely generate a 3/4"- 1" wave due to the overflows but that would be enough to achieve its intended purpose.
