HELP! Dyed Anemone...

Ok,
well long story short my dad "surprises me" with an Anemone.. im almost positive its a H. Crispa it has an orange/redish base and yellow tentacles... the foot doesnt look damaged... it looks healthy.. im almost 99.9% sure its dyed.. the only thing thats got me is the diff colors in it... anyway
i'll get some pics for you guys after it gets in the tank.. anyway tips on keeping it.. how often should i feed?? any recomendations

also they had it labled as Carnation Anemone.. if that helps anyone..

These dyed anemones have a tendancy not to so well after a while or they revert back to their original color. I would try feeding it every other day to keep in nice and happy.

Ok remember these were taken 5 mins after introduction to the tank so the mouth is open.. it wasnt open before and is closing more and more...now this first pics is with flash

The rest of the pics make the anemone look bleached.. but its alot brighter in real life..

The anemones that have come in as carnation anemones with the red base and yellow tentacles are not dyed. That is just their color. Many of us think that they may be a color variation of H. malu.

It is probably a sand dweller, needs some pretty respectable light and should be fed meaty foods 2 or 3 times a week at first.

If you do a search for "carnation anemone" on this forum you may find a few old threads.

You posted the pics as I was writing . The anemone is not dyed. Do a search to find a little more info.

I've never heard of a carnation anemone? I've seen those plenty of times and it's usually a dyed sebae anemone that doesn't live very long. I've seen the H. Malu that are yellowish, but they aren't this yellow.

The only reason I know this is because they are very common around here and I've talked to a few people and they all tell me that they are dyed...I could be wrong...only time will tell.

Looks a bit like a dyed H.Crispa to me,,, but whatever it is,,, give it light,,,feed it,,,, hope for the best.
