Help fragging polyps - I messed it up

I have this nice coral of polyps that I just went to frag. I was armed with my trusty screw driver just like Darcy showed me. My goal was to use the screw driver to scrape off a few polyps with a small amount of rock attached. The rock was harder than most and all I succeeded to do was puncture and deflate 3 polyps. ARGH. So I stopped. I really don't want to cut the rock Its a good size. Anyone have ideas.

These are some nice polyps. They stand about 3" tall and are brown green with some metallic tint to them. With a nice green mouth. Heck here I loaded a pic:

Yea but I still dont have my frags. Any ideas how to get these polyps off the rock. They have such a good hold.

use a smaller screwdriver. or a razorblade scraping just under the polyp. when i use a screwdrive i usually have to gauge out a good piece under the matt.

btw don't expect to get it perfect the first time there is a slight learning curve as easy as it is.

I use a razor blade for softies and it's easy as pie. But with polyps you're going to want to try and get some of the rock. Clearly you already understand this. Give them a few days. they'll be fraggable shortly. :)

I really can't tell from that pic, but if there's room, you could use a Dremel w/ a diamond wheel, and slice a sliver of rock under the polyps, and then use your screwdriver in the slice to break it off.

Put a small piece of rubble next to the polyp rock, let it overgrow, then easily use a razor to sever one from the other. You've got your mother colony and you've got an already mounted frag. Works for all softies I know of. Just takes patience.
