My Naso tang suddenly sprang up with this skin erosion directly under his right fin. The fin looks ok but the area on the body under the fin has rotted away. It seems to have appeared over night. The skin has eroded leaving a white blotch. The rest of his body looks good and he seems healthy and is eating.
The other fish seem ok; however, I did lose two wrasse fish in the last two weeks.
It is a large 320 gallon reef tank. I tried to capture the fish for quarantine but that's impossible. I started dosing Melafix, which claims to be an antibacterial remedy.
Can anyone tell me if this is a bacterial infection or fungus? What is the best remedy for fish in a reef tank? Hope I don't have to tear down the tank to capture all the fish.
