I've been trying to get sea grapes caulepra to grow in my tanks to compete with Hair algae and win for about 6 months now and it just doesn't seem to last very long. IT will grow for a little while and then just die off. I have noticed to has some yellow buds, what does that mean. its under 4 24wPC and my other tank has 2 54w T-5's is that enough light in both tanks with about a 12 hour photo period?
please advise

Also, what is the easiest MAcro to grow to compete with hair algae and where do I get it.
thanks

You should stop putting iron in the tank as this will help hair algae to grow.

You should try something like Shaving Brush Plant (below link) if you don't have any herbivores. Usually herbivores donÃ"šÃ‚¡Ã"šÃ‚¯t eat these macro algae but my Shaving Brush Plants were eaten by my Yellow Tang. He must have been really hungry.

Anyway, this macro algae help export nitrate and phosphate
