HELP....I am a fish murder!

Hi all. Waited till my tank cycled and then added some fish 2 clowns and 2 6 line wrasse. They have been in a few weeks. Today 1 clown and 1 wrasse died. All inverts and coral all fine. Current parameters, temp 79.3, salinity 1.03, ph 8.0, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10ppm, calcium 380, dkh 8, phosphate 0. Can someone help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I am losing hope!

that's a lot of fish at once so ammonia may have spiked and now indictable. salinity is really high

Salinity is a tad high too. 1.024 - 1.026 is normal.

And agree thats alot to add at once.

It is hard to say with the description given. could have been salinity differences, Ammonia from to many fish at once, one of the six lines took exception to the other, No QT opens up the possibility of illness or disease.

I agree that the salinity is too high, but I also noticed that you have 2 clowns and 2 6-Line Wrasses. Very well in a 29g, there could be a possibility that they killed each other off. Also did you quarantine them?

Had a six line once in a 29 cube and couldn`t keep anything else.He was a mean bastard..

Yeah I have a 36g and wanted to get a 6 line but due to the size of my tank and the other fish I wanted decided that I will be getting the Pink Streaked Wrasse instead. Much more peaceful and still will do a similar job. Anyone who sold you 2 6 lines with the knowledge you had a 29g is not someone I would be buying fish from again....

The problem is just because the tank cycled doesn't mean you can throw lots of fish in. The cycle is only limited to what you have put on it stress wise. It needs to grow with each addition to accommodate the higher bioload. 2 Fish would have been much better. It also depends on the size of tank. 4 fish in a 120 wouldn't be much, but 4 fish in a 30 or 40 gallon aquarium is a lot. Purely just an example.

Yup, one 6 line killed the other two. They are mean sob's, and all newbies (me included) get one only to learn a deadly lesson.

I had a 6 line in a 300g...it definitely had plenty of space...best I can figure it murdered things for pleasure....not a fan of them

Only CUC in the tank are a huge black cucumber, softball size black spiny urchin, a huge red pencil urchin and a handful of big snails.
