I just broke one of my bubble tips anemones while trying to take it off from one of the rocks, it was burning and damaging all of the corals in ts way so I had to move it away and had this little accident.

Can I do something? Will it die?????? Is it inevitable???

HELP!!!!

I'd get it to a Q-tank if you can and leave it alone with some rock.. If you can't, just place it somewhere with low flow and where nothing will disturb it... give it a chance to heal.

it might break apart, or it could heal itself back together. It really depends on water quality and stress. If your water is good, don't do a change--it'll stress it too much. My rbta split and it was horrific-looking; it split right down the middle like someone had taken it and ripped it apart forcefully.. but after a few weeks it was completely healed and accepting food again. If your clown hosts in it, make sure she's not too big otherwise it'll never get a chance to heal. Just make sure not to touch it and that it's not getting blasted by powerheads and being exposed to too much light.

Gimme a pm later with how it's doing and I'll help as best I can.

Thank you very much magellan!!!

I have various clownfishes but they enter to another blubble tip I have.

I already placed it in a low circulation and light spot in the aquarium before comming to work.

I was planning to do a water change this weeking but it wasn't urgent so I think I can wait for a week or two so the anemone can heal.

I'll try to post a picture tonight when I get home.

finish the separation, cut it in half completely and hopefully it will heal into 2 anemones

remember to use a very sharp knife or a fresh razor blade.

I'd say it depends on how "apart" it is.. If it's just torn I think it'll heal without splitting, but if there's minimal tissue between two pieces then, yes, finish separating it. But don't expect both pieces to live. (not to say that they won't, just don't get your hopes up) and be sure to get out anything that dies.

Ok, let me get home and look at it again and maybe take a picture.

I already put activated carbon in the wet dry before living to avoid toxins damage.

Suerte.

I think it's getting better. I didn't cut cause I was afraid to get it worse but yesterday when I arrived home from work it seemed more opened and even took food with the tentacles.

Today I looked at it again early in the morning and it seemed to be attached to a rock.

I'll check again on midday and post the status.

Thanks to all of you!!

Hey!!! The anemone did break apart in two pieces!!!

One is hiden under between two rocks and the other one is attached to a rock in the bottom of the aquarium.

They both seem to be doing well but the one in bottom seems to be really good.

I'll keep an eye on both and tell you about...

pregunta... cuando esto sucede... hay una manera de hacerlo que kede abierto para poder separarlo por el medio de la boca?
