Glad it worked out for your anemone. We have 15 BTAs (3 quite large). All cloned from 2 baby aquacultured BTAs several years ago. It's good you're looking to find another home for your clone - we really need to encourage folks to do this (better than taking them from the ocean - getting pretty rare).
Anemone are "hydras" meaning they can often regenerate from only a few cells of material. Or at least that's true for many glass anemones (aiptisia). BTAs aren't quite as robust but I've seen them go through the ringer (okay, sump) several times and survive. Otherwise they couldn't survive cloning.
So if water params, circulation, and light are okay, they do fine.
You do have to be careful moving them (as you found out) as the
foot can tear easily.
Best way to move a BTA is *don't* - but if you can't help it, try to slowly slide a credit card under their foot. One they climb on, move
'em. Incidentally, alot of folks will say not to keep anemones in the same tank with corals. I tend to agree. We currently have them sharing a 180 gallon tank and they're starting to crowd each other. Am moving the nems to a separate tank soon.
Cheers!
