here is a picture of my 6000 mounted on magnet. i position it where i want it, but after a minute it is facing the other way. i bought it brand new and i don't see anything that came with it that will keep it in place. in the picture i have one of the nylon screws and nut in the hole, but it does not help. someone please help me

i point it straight ahead and in a minute it is facing the glass.

The nut and screw should not be needed and are only included for a 6200 which has a special threaded post. The nut and screw you have installed are too narrow to hold and they were intended for mounting the hanger on a horizontal brace. You need to firmly press the arm and post together, both pieces have serrations that grab each other to hold the pump in place.

yeah i understand. i don't have the screw and not in there anymore. i know the serrated edges are supposed to hold it but it still will eventually work its way out of position. i might just put something behind it to serve as a stop. kinda like a door stop.

Well, I could send a bigger screw and nut or a different post but if you wanted to solve it now you could pick one up at Lowes or Home Depot, just buy a nylon screw and nut with a wider diameter. A zip tie could also be used to clamp it down.

man i got home from work and unplugged my 6000 to put a stopper behind it. now when i plug it up it doesn't work at all!!! what the hell is going on? any advice?

thats weird the edge should hold it i put mine at a slight upward angle and it stays the same which would be harder than straight forward. not sure about the working part. Roger should be able to help with that.

how would you point it up? i don't understand. it only moves side to side on a swivel.

Angle the pump to the left or right on the holder. Then tilt the magnet holder some, as much as 45 degrees. I use the large screw and nut that came with the 6000 kit to keep the teeth locked together. I have my pumps set half way down on the side glass and angled upward at about 20 to 30 degrees. It keeps the sand down and still provides lots of flow.
