That whole thing sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. A heater that big on 8 gallons of water will likely overheat the water unless you have it on a controller. There isn’t anywhere inside the house that you can put a 10 gallon tank for a week? The thermostats on heaters are crap. I wish you luck but I’m starting to doubt this will end well for the anemone.

Thank you pfan I'm hoping that doesn't happen. Heater had been accurate so far, I have a traditional thermometer in the water as well for control.
In Miami we have never had anything close to 40 F inside of the house but I am keeping a close eye on the water temp. If I see the heater can't keep up she comes in for sure. It is just that so far Isn't needed.

I never use heater with temp sensor on the heater. Just because the sensor is right on the heater, it is impossible for the sensor to sample the temperature accurately.
I always use heater controller with it's own temperature probe, remote from the heating element.

I see why you suggest a divider. I wrapped my PH in a fine net but the heater is unprotected. She is not moving but I'll get the divider just in case.
I also see what you say about the heating element and the sensor being in the same enclosure but so far mine has been accurate.
I'll post some pics in a few minutes to get a feeling on how she is doing.

Divider is cheap easy to do and will keep the anemone safe. In a small tank like HT if the anemone loose it footing it WILL end up chewed up by the PH due to flow.

I couldn't find egg crate an my local Lowe's, but Home Depot keeps it stocked with the lighting diffusers. To trim, I find what row needs to be broken out and use the shaft of a screwdriver to just smash through them. It doesn't take much effort and is way easier than using my Dremel.
Understood!...Egg crate in shopping list as well as the inkbird controller is on its way from Amazon, couldn't find a local store that carries it.
Now, nem seems to be doing ok, at least is not worse (to my novice eye). It hasn't deflated completely as it used to do in DT. Tentacled get thin from time to time but it doesn't close. It is also coughing out some snot that I'm removing with a net.
Now with the WC I realized that is has a bit over 5G of water, since the rock is so big it throw me off. I still dosed the full 250mg of cipro. I read in the sticky that if they are very sick you could up the mg so I assumed it was safe to do. Should I keep the dose or maybe cut it in half?
Water temp is in 80 F and I made sure the new one was as well.
Day 2 After water change. The cloudiness is because of the crushed pill and the debris from the rock after WC.
