Hi All,
Below are pictures of my male anthia. He has a problem area at the base of his fin. He has been in my quarantine tank since his purchase about 2 months ago. He and his tankmates have been through a complete hyposalinity treatment. This spot used to look worse - it was much larger and had a red area around it. I did a week's worth of Maracyn II treatments and it did not respond. I began treating Metranidizole for intestinal parasites in the other anthias and the area shrunk to just a brown dot. Now that he is off of the Metranidizole it is expanding again. I do not know if I am dealing with a bacteria or fungus. Any advice would be appreciated.
I have more Metranidizole on the way, so I can begin treating again tomorrow - I am wondering if I just need to get it to disappear completely, and if the Metranidizole will be able to do this. I have erythromycin and prazipro in my medicine stock, as well as the usual copper, formalin type dip treatments. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help!
