Help Id these starfish that came on my live rock

Brittle stars. Part of CUC. I had a few. They were beautiful but did not last long. Gone for unknown reason.
If they are baby serpentines they might grow to sizable specimens.
Congrats!! Enjoy!

Mini brittle stars, as mentioned above. Maximum size (including arm spread is maybe 2". They will almost certainly survive. Although you might think they've disappeared, a few months from now you'll move a rock and there will be 20 of them. Great additions to your tank!

When I was setting up my tank I used dry rock, added three pieces of live rock from my LFS which had some unseen zoas, coralline, pods, brittle stars, and worms. I used ammonia at 2 ppm for a few weeks to start my cycle and everything lived, I must have a few dozen stars I see their arms poking out of every crevice in the rocks. As stated before I think many things are more resilient than we give credit for. Good luck with them

If you have 2 you probably have 100. They have periodic spawning events in my tank and it always shocks me how many come out of the rocks!

don't mind them, they're typically inside the nooks and crannies of rocks and the rocks the corals are nested on. hard to spot them until their legs stick out :)

These stars are really tuff. When I purchased a tank from someone it was loaded with them. I left the tank in the garage while cleaning it empty for almost a week and when I placed it inside and filled it I saw some crawl out of my overflow that I couldn't reach. These little guys wont hurt anything and they are great scavengers. They help me for when my wife decides to overfeed shrimp.
