I pulled out a fulgida worm the other day, and this guy is not the same as it was. the fulgida clearly had legs and used them to walk. This guy I don't think used his legs. I had him dead before I could really get a good look at him and be sure. This one also is an irredescent color that can be seen a little on one of the pictures, and has two eyelash type of antennas on his head...and lacks the pointed tail of a fulgida.

You can see some plain bristleworms in there with him, so I know it's not one of them. I only pull those if they're easy to get to. I just don't want to get too many in the tank.

What is this worm?

eunicid maybe?

never have seen one in person and i am not an expert by any means but i've done some research on them...

I am not sure but there are other species of Fulgida worms. You are probably used to seeing Oenone Fulgidas. This does appear to be some sort of the same species if it has 3 antennae. Fulgida have 3 antennae and Eunice have 4 or 5. Just count the antennae and you should have your answer. Or just wait for Leselie Hb to respond. Shes the best.

Well, last night, something happened in my tank and I don't know what it was.

I have two frags of AOG palythoas, and both were doing great last night. The larger one had about 9 full size polyps, but this morning I noticed it is in horrible condition. None of the polyps are open and it looks like they are in poor enough condition that they can't or won't. It's not like it would look if it was adjusting to a new tank or something and was just not opening up yet. It looks really bad. Some of the stems seem very small, and brownish. The two frags were kept about 10" apart in the tank and the smaller one is just fine.

However, a Kenya tree that was right next to the AOG looks pretty bad. It has been shrunk up small all day, and this evening has even folded a little bit on the main stem.

I also noticed when I got a turkey baster to dust off some things, I have an awful lot of spider web type of stringy things in the tank. I have always had a little bit of this, but it does seem like a bit more now.

Any ideas what may have happened? What does it look like when a paly has been eaten on? Any things to look out for? Water tests all came out just fine.
