Help Identify Acro Bug

I have an acropora that is a light brown/ tan color. I have small little bugs that look brown in color. They are pretty visible to the eye. Not sure if they are red bugs or something else. They do not seem to move around very much.

PLEASE HELP. I have treaded for red bugs in the past. Interceptor about 3 times in 2 weeks.

Probably this;

Planaria Flatworms

Has anyone seen red bugs that are very visible to the eye. I am unable to get good close up shots. But these bugs on my tan color acro are a darker color and are very easy to see. They seem like a brown color.
Are these red bugs?

That sounds like red bugs in terms of size but not color. The red dot on their butts is pretty easy to see with magnification.

I do not need any magnification to see these critters on the acro. The acro is about 5 to 6 inches from the glass and I am able to see these critters with ease.

Consider using a large magnifying glass or a camera with a good macro setting. Without magnification, I could just barely see RB's on an acro that was maybe 4" from the front glass. They were just at the limit of my perception. Your pest sounds like it is larger.

Let us know what you learn.

Sounds like red bugs to me, when I had them I was able to look closely and see them no problem without the need of a magnifying glass. They will look brownish red, very small and move pretty quick on acros.

I have seen some that look exactly like red bugs but they are dark brown and have no red spot. They were on a montipora in my case not an acropora.

I've heard of redbugs being different colors. The redbugs I've experienced have red heads and yellow bodies and were barely visible to the naked eye. And they move though not rapidly. A macro lens helped me to both notice and identify them. Yours sound signficantly larger.

Yes they are very visible. No need to squint to see them. Some move quickly and others are just sort of in place.I actually used twizzers and was able to move them off the acro. They are only on this one type. I do not see them on any of my other acros. PE is very good on all my acros.

Just not sure if I should treat with interceptor or not, I would hate to lose my shrimp.

Take a picture, making sure it's very focused. Then, crop the photo, to show the "bugs." The cropping will magnify any problems with the photograph, so it's critical that it's a clear, sharp photo.

Well, I went to a LFS and the owner went out of his way to help me take some close up pics of this bug. From what we can tell, it looks like some type of pods are living on my acro. Please keep in mind when looking at the picture. The acro's tips are from transport and handling.

You can see on the acro there is no bite marks and there were probably 4 or 5 bugs on this small piece.

Also you can see little tentacles on the one that is free swimming.

Anyone have any ideas?

They look like a pod to me, of some sort at least. I'm no expert though. Are your corals having any issues with polyp extension or losing color?
