The tank is about 5 weeks old and i just finished my cycle and im about to add a CuC. This started growing about a week ago and i figured its just part of the cycle so ill let it go i just wanna make sure its not something i need to worry about.
It doesn't look anything like Bryopsis to me, I would agree the start of hair algae. Your cuc will take care of most of it and keeping your nitrates and phosphates down will help. This is just all a part of the ugglies that new tanks go through and you will see oh so much more of them. Just remember your tank will mature and they will go away.
My phosphates are at 0 right now due to my gfo reactor but since the cycle just ended my nitrates are around 20-30 ppm so im doing a large water change today and if their low enough ill be adding a CuC
reading about how easy it is to get it off rocks im thinking its hair algae since i can wipe it off most of the stuff with my hands or a scrubber with little to no effort
