HELP: In tank SPS fragging

For starters in the future is recommend something like these from your local drugstore, you can find them for about $5 sometimes.

As far as fragging them in the track it depends on how well they're attached to the rock and how you're using the shears. If the coral isn't grown onto the rock it might come off no matter what, but for me what works well is to grip the branch with the shears and then turn my wrist a tiny bit to break it off instead of trying to squeeze down or use any force. Might work depending on what you're fragging...
 
I find with the bone cutters, if you get too much of the piece into the inside portion of the cutter you have to squeeze very hard. But generally if you use just the very tip of the cutter on the smallest part you can grab onto, then you can cut very easy. I cut the bases off my frag plugs this way and those are usually much harder to cut than coral.
