Help, Is my nem dieing???

I just brought this home. It looked very healthy in it's prior setting. It has been in my tank for 2 hours now. Is it dieing? What do I do? This is my first nem. It is under a 20k 250w Halide 6" underwater.

The nem is very stressed. I would keep a close eye on it. It could go either way at this point. If it starts to get mushy, remove it ASAP.

Not dieing yet. Just deflated. It will inflate itself back if it's healthy. Just watch it closely. If it keeps doing this then it might be on the way out.

a good sign that it is dying is that its tentacles look like they are melting, or they are melting. also if your water smells bad, and if he is just roaming around in the water you can pick him up and smell him....not to close its gonna stick. but since you just got him sure he is deflated which is normal for him to exchange out his old water and take in your tank water. this will happen from time to time.

Yeah I didn't want to say anything - because it was either going to look much better, or be dead :) Think of anemones like water balloons. If you put it into a body of water that has slightly different water chemistry, the anemone has to go through a cycle of inflation/deflation to balance the water inside its body with the water outside. The greater the difference between your water chemistry and the water the anemone came from, the greater will often be the contractions/expansions.

Glad to see it is looking better!
