HELP!! Is this anemone dying? When do I remove it? Dont want to pollute tank!!

I just want to comment that I see totally why you are confused.....it looks ok, then pretty good, then what is the mouth doing??? I'm not familiar with this type of anemone but just wanted to say that.

when they start to die you will know it, I wouldn't call it quits yet. But for the record s. haddoni is a littler harder to recover then some other anemone like BTA's.

Don't give up on it yet though.

I have been looking for a picture from "Toddrtrex" that shows what a melting/dying S. Haddoni looks like and haven't found it yet. But this anemone that is pictured in this thread...http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2224542 is pretty much what I was looking for. See post #2. If your anemone begins looking like this it is pretty much done.

time to siphon that anemone out of the tank instead of trying to pick him out. scoop with a large container is likely OK also. Trying to bring that anemone out by hand, at least 1/2 of it's ,*** will just dissolve into the tank.

Kduen- Thank you! That was VERY helpful! I'm very relieved to know he isn't as bad off as I was worried. I appreciate you sharing that with me. I was unable to find that on my own searches. (probably b/c of the title). I'm also glad to know when I need to remove it. My panic was not knowing when he starts to pollute my tank. I am grateful.
Minh- Do you really think I should pull it out for a QT at this point? The only treatment I have ever had to use is fw dips + copper (for ich). I am a bit nervous to disrupt him if he is just adjusting. Is this anti-biotic something I can do while in my reef?
I reviewed your treatment plan when you sent it to me the first time. I had wanted to make sure my anemone was in fact sick- before putting him through such a rough process. Not to mention I would need to buy a proper light/equip for the QT. In the past I have only had to treat fish, so I used a little 10gal fw set up (minus the carbon filter pad) as my QT. I will need a much better set up for an anemone QT.
Do you really think this is sick enough to put through a QT? considering he looks great about 75% of the day?

If he continue to get worst and not improve, then I would consider treatment. I cannot tell you when, because I don't see him day to day. The main thing if if he is getting better or not.
Equipment for treatment is minimal (maybe I think it is minimal because I have so much aquarium stuff around) but if you don't have them, you will need a few days to gather. Antibiotic is cheap but you need somebody to prescribe it for you. If the anemone is too far gone and smelly (bacterial cause necrosis, rotting of the inner organs)
I doubt that any treatment would be effective
antibiotic
20 g tank
PH
clip on light
heater
air pump and air stone

He has been doing great all, day- which is why I didnt bother with the pic. He actually ate today.. I didn't try to feed him, he caught a couple pieces of mysis on his own- held on and ate. I was surprised to see that! So far (today) he hasn't deflated once :)
