Help keep my lid supports from rusting and breaking in half

Hello all!

I have a canopy which uses a lid support to keep it up, these are the ones I've been using:

The original one that came with the canopy lasted me about 4 years, the replacements last about 4 months before the rivot rusts out and they break in half.

Do you know of anyone that sells these in stainless steel? Preferably online vendors. I found the stainless steel "finish" on Amazon, but not one that is actually made of stainless steel.

I don't know if it will work or not but maybe try clear coating them or maybe replace the rivets with stainless steel ones.

Why not just get yourself the stainless ones? There are a number of options that will last MUCH longer.

While these aren't stainless, they are much better made than the ones you are using. A bit of silicone grease on them will help ward off rust.

Man,.. I would love it if that second option works!! It would be so much easier to open the lid with just one hand when I'm working on something. For only $15 it's definitely worth a try. I ordered it!

Thank you!
