Help me choose a show fish.

I dont know why but i cant get da pool thing to work so just post what u think........... thankyou.

I have a 58 gallon reef, set up for 2 yrs., mostly sps (still frags) with a few softies and a candycane. 20 gallon sump with euro reef cs 5-3. I currently have 2 bartletts anthias and am looking for a nice show fish to be the star, I am then wanting to add 3 or so chromis for more movement and color in the water column. So here are my choices and their plus's and minus's.

Potters leopard wrasse- Love them but my mom doesnt want to try one after a previous one that died (wasnt healthy, bad buy on my part) Im pretty sure my tank could handle one

Brazilian fireball angel- pretty but IMO from pics nothing really eyepopping. Helps control algae.

Tomini tang- will eventually outgrow the tank, but controls algae. Not the prettiest fish but nice.

Copperband- IMO real eye catcher and would probably do pretty well in my openly scaped tank. Aids in apstasia. May eventually outgrow tank.

Other- Plaes let me know what fish if you vote for other.


Thanx for any ideas and help and sorry for the somewhat long post. Also tell me what fish you have in your 58/65 reefs.

And lastly heres a pic of my tank from a coupla months ago when I rescaped it, things have really taken off since then.

go with some wrasse's scotts, soler, some of the flasher wrasse's you can school. on the botton of the tank you could do blue dot jaw fish. one that does not come out all the offten is a swissgard basslet so cool though with a pair of true perks would be good
 
I had a solar fairy for a while but it ended up jumping and i dont want that to happen agian. The jawfish wouldn't be very happy I only have a thin layer of sand , but i have always wanted one. I might add something small like the basslet or percs but I really want an active eye catching fish to be the center of attention with a lot of other movement from the bartletts and chromis, then I might add a little surprise like the basslet or a goby that would pop out and say hey every once in a while. Thanx for the suggestions though, i might consider the basslet later on.
 
Really.....hmmmm. sounds intresting, the only problem i can come up with is the price on this guy, last time i saw him in the LFS it was over 100$. But if i could get it cheaper that would be a nice way to go. Im going to a new LFS 2morrow so ill keep all these ideas in the back of my head. I set up my QT 2day also so im ready for anything.

Keep the ideas coming.
 
A centropyge angel would be nice if you could find a reef safe one. A golden or potters would be very nice and the peaceful setup would really help with having them adapt.
 
I love the potters. Iv'e had a lot of bad luck with fish picking at corals particularly "reef safe" blennies. Iv'e never kept a dwarf angel though, isnt it pretty much 50-50 chance they will nip. I assume if you keep them well fed they will not bother anything. Ive also heard flamebacks are some of the most reef safe, any one got more info on them?
 
I used to have an african flameback and he didn't touch a thing (my buddy now enjoys him). Most dwarf angels can be 50/50, but it never stopped me from trying.

That generally means you dont feed enough. How often, and how much do you feed your fish?
 
well i currently only have the two anthias so no problem with them nipping, but i try to feed them 1 or 2 times a day, once with pellets and once with meaty foods (shrimp scallops mysis). But sometimes i miss feeding altogether. When i had my bicolor blenny he nipped at my favorite monti along with alagae and what ever i fed him. I think i just got unlucky.

Does anyone have any opionoins on the fish I stated in my original post?

What is the difference between the africain and brazilian angel? I always forget.
 
Too expensive. Im probably just gonna buy the next fish I see at the LFS that has been listed. Of course it will have to be healthy.
 
Copperband are very finnicky eaters. Take caution when buying one if you do. Make sure you see it eating first.

Thought about a four line wrasse? Much prettier and less common tthan their 6 line counterpart.
