Help me choose

Hi i'm getting a new clam after seeing how good the gold maxima is doing,so should I get a gigas or hippopus?LFS ordered both for me,this really is addicting!

yes,what does that have to do with it,oh and I added some hydnophora,but I think the hydno was sick when I got it hence the $5 price tag.The gold maxima's doin great though,feed DT'S every other day.

A 10 gallon tank, is not ideal for clams.

A Gigas clam, can reach a size of over 3 feet and weigh over 500 pounds.

I would not add anymore clams to this tank.

I've often wondered how long it actually takes gigas, hippopus and other clams that get big to grow from small ones to the sizes they are capable of obtaining. I've seen pictures of 11" deresa's and gigas a bit bigger but nothing seriously big in an aquarium. About how old would an 11" deresa clam be?

well i know the guys at the LFS,so I can trade in the clam when it gets too big.The clam's been under these lights for almost a month.Plus i'll probably get a 175 watt halide for Christmas.:bum:
