Help me decide. Canon G9 or the Canon S5 IS

I use the G9 as my backup to my Xti. Love it that a small camera has RAW.

Where are you finding those deals? Be careful about finding deals that sound too good. There are a lot of places selling gray market products and other scams out there. Make sure you find reviews for the website you are ordering from.

I am trying to decide between these 2 cameras as well.

S5 has added zoom. Less $$
G9 has added resolution and RAW. More $$

The deals mentioned above sound way too low to be true. What site is this? Probably gray market.

go for the G9!
so many reasons to go for it ... Raw mode, 12.1 MPx, Digic III ... and much more.

That's what I decided on. Just got it on Tuesday. Here are a few "out of the box" pics....

That place was a bait-and-switch shop. I ordered from profeel...it was $438.50 shipped.

Dobbs, what site were you finding those prices at even the link you list shows all their affiliates selling the camera for $450? Thanks.

Just picked up a G9 a few weeks ago. Great camera, can’t wait to get some time to learn more about it. Shots in auto are really good for a point and shoot.

hey guys i was also looking into the g9...i was just wanting to know if this camera is an all around good camera? any help would be great. i want to start shooting macro shots of my tank and my current digi cam just wont cut it.

Only had mine for a short time and still learning the in’s and out’s but so far so good. Happy with some of the tank/coral shots and some general purpose settings, kid birthday and work outing. Looking forward to see how well it performs on some nature & landscape shots. Have not tried the movie function but didn’t really buy it for that.
