help me decide which inhabitants into which tank

I've got two tanks going now. All my corals and live stock are in a 40 breeder under 192 watts of mixed actinic and daylight PC lighting (Orbit unit by Current USA). The other tank is an Oceanic "cube" (24wx18dx20h) with live rock and sand under 150 watts of MH (14K bulb). I had planned to move the anemones and clownfish out of the 40 into the cube, mainly to separate the anemones from my corals. But I just had the thought to leave the anemones and clowns in the 40 and move over the corals (mostly soft, octocorals, but some montipora, pocillapora and caulastrea).

I'm torn. The cube would make such a cool anemone and clown tank, but the I can see that the MH lighting might be better for the corals.

What are your opinions?

TIA,
Ben

I would like the clowns in the cube but both would end up being mixed reef tanks in my house. The 40BR is a great tank for growing corals but the MH over the cube makes it easy too. I say go for it in both tanks.

Maybe look into some 3ft T5's for the 40g someday soon.

I think a dedicated clown anemone in the cube would be pretty neat. However, I agree, in my house too it would be crammed packed with corals in no time.

Well, that's two votes for me to follow my instincts. This evening I broke the canopy built for the cube. Rats. Dropped it just a little and the swinging door split in half along the grain. An easy fix with some wood glue, but I really like open tanks, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Now, I have to figure another way to hang the the Aqua Medic MH.

In related news, I made the drive to Aquatic Technologies (or whatever that barn/warehouse is called). I picked up two large show peices of live rock. I did some preliminary aqua-scaping tonight trying not to crush the giant serpent star that is the tanks only current livestock.

More updates as things progress.

Cheers,
Ben
