Help me fix my t5's

I just got a new t5 fixture from a friend and found that the back 2 bulb sockets aren't working. How can I take it apart and what should I look for.

He works at the lfs and got it from them, I think the wiring must have been banged up or something. Not the type of guy to sell broken stuff.

Not to sound over simple or anything, but why not just take it back? Especially if your friend works there.

It's not from the lfs it's his fixture that he got from their display. they didn't want t5 over it because the light spills over. I need it and got like 5 e5's with it for $150

Start simple. Switch bulbs if you haven't already.

After that, usually when a fluorescent light goes out, it's the ballast. Not worth the cost if this is the case.

If you want to tear it apart, look for bad connections at tombstones, etc. Good luck

A friend would take it back and refund your money, or at least get it working for you.
