Hi there, Im currently running a 34g solana which is a 20" cube, for lighting I have a nova extreme pro 6x18 T5 fixture with 4 blue and 2 10k bulbs, I have the stock skimmer and dose kalkwaser in the make up water.

I got zoas, mushrooms, ricordeas and LPS that are all Thriving, but my 2 anemones a rose bubble tip and a green bubble tip doesnt seem to be doing quite well, they are alwasy hiding, shriveled up, and once every day or 2 they come up into the direct light, the mostly stay right next to the return line from the sump where they get lost of flow and it keeps them deflated.

Im gonna upgrade my tank soon, and I want the anemones to really thrive, what equipment should I go with for a 30x30x20 or a 36x30x18 reef tank.

Should I go T5 on the lighting or do Metal Halide? should I get a large skimmer or just an average skimmer would work?

THX in advance

well, generally speaking the skimmer doesn't really effect the anemone very much, (it has some effect though), so i think an average skimmer would be fine. as far as lighting goes, i would say switch to meatl halide (because thats what i currently have and my anemone's are doing great), but i've had a perfectly fine experience with anemones under T5s. maybe try out a different T5 fixture before thinking about MH, because you wont have to worry about tank temp. as much (halides give off sooooo much heat).

rastarainy......

I have MH and its about 12-13" off the surface of the water and the nems are another 8" below that.....they dont seem like they are fighting to get light, do you think I should lower the light?
