Hey guys so I'm stuck on which ballast to go with on the new build

I'll be running 2 250w radium bulbs maybe 400w if they can fit

I'm stuck between

2 m80 ballast or 2 luxcore adjustable ballast

I went with the Lumatek LK400 - there are a couple units used on eBay. They are 4way adjustable, including the HQI version (250w, 275w, 400w, 440w). Lumatek produced a great product (the LK400 model is no longer produced), I'm sure it is on par if not better quality than the LuxCore ballasts.

You can pick them up for around $40-60 used.

If you are not sure, then get the selectable ballasts for maximum flexibility. If you are sure that you want to run 20K Radiums at 250w, then get the m80s since they are spec and the best.

exactly what i thought when i read the post. if your going with the 20k 250w radiums. then DEF go with the m80 for sure...anything other even on "hqi" setting wont run the bulb to spec like an m80 ballast would...
