Help me pick a cool wrasse

I had a 6 line that was great. Also had a melanurus, that got huge. Lost the first in a tank move to our new home. Lost the second during a downsize. Both went carpet surfing from their temporary tank.

I now have a 120. I don't think I want one that will get as big as the melanurus. I'm looking for something that will subsist on frozen, pods, and pests. I'm not opposed to a 6 line, I'd just like to explore less common options.

Any wrasse experts?

Personaly I love the lepord wrasse for reef safe tanks and an harqulin australin tusk for fish only tanks and sometimes reef safe tanks

Halichoeres biocellatus (red lined wrasse) would fill your specifications and I don't see it kept that much. Get's to about 4" max.

Was was initially thinking about the possum wrasses? Not sure if they are as good of a utility worker as the 6 lines can be.

a mystery wrasse would be a very cool addition, does all you ask. Although I better advise, add him well after you have picked out any shrimp you might want. new additions may become expensive meals.

Mystery is on the list. The 6 line really is ideal. I'd like something that will stay relatively small. I have crushed coral sand bed and ornamental shrimp so the twistii, though beautiful, is not a good fit.

Any comment on possums?

6 lines can get aggressive ... I never would recommend them to anyone! IME possums spend most of their time in the rockwork, so they're not often seen.

Yellow Coris is nice... Fairy and flashers are great!

+1
the adult coloration is very nice and they constantly cruize around the tank picking off pest like a six line or melanarus does.
