Help Me Pick a Return Pump

Hello,

My current setup is an Oceanic 58 reef-ready, with a 20l sump about 4' of head. I am running a Quiet One 4000 (1017 gph) return pump, and it is way too much pump. I have it turned way down to try to reduce bubbles and noise. I would like to replace it with something that is lower flow and uses less power. Should be...

1. I think I need something in the 600-800gph range
2. less than 50 watts
3. less than $100
4. quiet
5. it would be nice if I didnt have to change my plumbing, so 1" threaded output and less than 4.25" tall.

Im thinking the Quiet One 3000, or the Tunze Silence fit the bill.
Any other ideas or suggestions?

Thank You

you only need about 300gph thru your sump.

a mag 5 would work. the Tunze is excellent and has adjustable flow. the QO 3000 has the 1" output you want, but I'd dial it back a little.

imo Tunze

Thanks for the replies

I have a spare mag 5, so I could try that and see how it works, but it is way too loud for a permanent solution.
If I only need in the neighborhood of 300 gph through the sump, the quiet one 2200 might fit the bill at ~580 gph and 40 watts.
The Tunze Silence 1073.020 is also really attractive at ~630 gph and only 30 watts.

The Water Blaster HY pumps are efficient and run on lower wattage than other pumps of its class. However, they are pricier compared to their counterparts.
