Help me pick a tank size!

I am looking for a tank that has a 36" foot print. I am thinking about the Oceanic 58g, is that a good idea? Is it worth it to go 65?

I have a 75G, and the biggest mistake I made in this hobby (so far) was not getting a 120G. It's the same width, but 6" deeper. Anything less than a 4'x2' footprint makes everything more problematic. Limited space...no real room for a fuge in the sump, and no room for a calcium reactor. In time you will want both.

my favorite tank with a 36in length is the tencor 85H....i would look at it if you want acrlic and can afford it.

Yeah I purposely bought a 36" T5 teklight last year just so I can restrain myself from upgrading to a much bigger tank. :D

I am trying to keep the cost under $700 if that is possible... among the more standard size tank, which ones are more popular? I think the extra volumn of the 65g is good, but does it look odd with a tank that tall?

Tenecor and 85H, never thought to go that tall since the corals at the bottom wouldn't be too happy. But let me look into it! Thanks!

I like the 3x2x2 as well. You will have room to make a nice rock structure that does not sit against the glass, a big plus for cleaning, flow, etc.
