HELP! me save my acropora green please

Hello. A friend gave me an acropora green that was put under MH light directly and suffered and lost tissue...half of it and now I don`t know how to save this poor coral.

My water parametters tested with Hanna are:
Ca 420
Mg 1350
KH 12
NO3 = 0-1
PO4 = 0.00
ATI Light 2xaquablue + 1blueplus+ 1coral plus 4x39W - 200L tank

Any idea ? should I leave it alone or should I cut the whitened zone and dead tissue ? This is the coral before started losing tissue:

Do you have a picture of the coral now. Sounds like Rapid Tissue Necrosis. A photo will help a lot on advice.

If it's RTN it's most likely a goner. SPS are extremely sensitive to change, and prone to light shock. If you did not take the time to properly acclimate or if you do not have a stable system then you should consider keeping some more beginner corals first.

Also alkalinity (dKh = 12) is somewhat high. 8 - 10 range is ideal, but stability is the most important

Frag it!! Based on that last picture, it looks like you can get two solid frags form the left side of it that has not started to lose it's tissue yet. I've had this happen to two acros, and while the fragged pieces aren't growing too much yet, they are still very much alive!

And you might as well frag it becasue there is no turning back from this, so you might as well save what you can before the whole thing dies!

I agree frag the few remaining pieces with tissue on it and throw the rest out. I have had this happen a couple of times. It will not regrow the lost tissue it will only spread to the rest of the coral and all will be dead. Good luck.
