Help me set-up my 265

First, thank you to all helpful replies.:D I recently ordered a 265 gallon perfecto, reef ready tank. I currently have a non-reef ready 220 AGA which I'm selling (not here though cause I have less than 50 posts :p ) Anyways I am looking at doing more of a FOWLR setup for my first tank, so I can primarily focus on the basics. I have decided to build my own wet/dry/sump setup based on one at a local fish store, but have not determined how much flow the tank can handle yet, so I'm not sure on the pumps. Aside from that I am debating an ASM G-4+ protein skimmer, and a few powerheads for water movement. Lights are yet to be determined, I just want something strong enough to display the fish and promote coraline algae growth on the live rock. The stock list of anticipated fish includes... 1 Imperator angel, 1 harlequin tusk, 1 yellow tang, 1 naso blonde tang, 1 humu rectangular trigger, 1 arothron dog face puffer, and one other fish to be determined. Ok so now for questions:

1. How little light can I get away with? I would like to use a canopy as well if possible.

2. Is a ASM G-4+ adequate to handle this bioload?

3. How does the stocking list look? suggestions for last fish?

4. Any idea how much water the overflow on the tank will handle?

Again, thanks for any advice I would like to avoid any costly mistakes.

since you have tangs the only thing I could say from experience is to add the animals all at the same time.

This is where you ask friends to help out on this.

I assume you mean all the tangs at once, not all the fish?

Lights are a non issue with Fish Only tanks. You can get buy with what ever light suits your wallet. I would likely retro a t-5 kit in if it were me and I was going to use a canopy.

2. Is a ASM G-4+ adequate to handle this bioload?
The G-4 would probably get the job done. You might wanna go with a G-5 to be on the safe side.

The stocking list looks good to me. The only consideration is if you ever decide to keep corals you will have to get rid of a couple of those fish. If you plan to stick with fish only then I would say the stocking list looks good. As far as the next fish I would add another Wrasse or maybe a Lion fish to the mix but that's up to you. The harlequin tusk may chew your fingers off and The Puffers flesh is toxic so hopefully none of your other fish will take a bite outta his arse.

4. Any idea how much water the overflow on the tank will handle?
I don't know what size drains that tank has drilled in it, but once your figure out the drain pipe sizes then it's easy enough to calculate drain volume capability.

Again, thanks for any advice I would like to avoid any costly mistakes.
As far as avoiding costly mistakes go, One thing jumps out at me. I would recommend that you skip the whole Wet/Dry part of the filter system and go to a custom Sump/Fuge. Plan on growing a macro-algae such as Chaetomorpha. This will allow you to export nitrates and phosphates as you trim the macro-algae back in the fuge. You may also want to build it with the ability to add a filter sock to filter out particulates. Make sure that you leave room for a couple of media reactors if you decide to use them at some point. Here's a good link for sump/fuge info:

1. I'll probably keep an eye on the for sale section and find something cheap :D

2. The g-5 is too tall to fit under the tank (which is where everything needs to go due to placement of tank) How would something like a precision marine XL model one work? or is there another reasonable priced alternative?

3. Thanks for the info on fish. I would like a lion, but I'm afraid the other fish might nip him too much.

4. Again thanks. I was hoping someone might know. (you'd think I would being that I ordered it  )

Thanks for the link to the fuge/tank set-ups & help in general.
