Ok so I ordered mariculture pink milli from LA about ten days ago. I just noticed this on there today. The base of it had stn on it upon arrival and seems to have stopped but not sure what this is or what could be causing it. Tested water over the weekend an parameters were alk 8.0 ca was 425 mg was 1450 sg was 1.027. I am dosing vodka .05 ml twice a day for a total of .1 mb7 added once a week 3 ml

Did you dip this piece prior to placing it? Maricultured pieces are known for being difficult to get to acclimate to a tank but also for having pests like aefw, redbug, etc.

Mariculture corals are harder to keep in aquarium at first. If all params are all good, then it should be growing in no time.

Yes I did dip the coral in revive per instructions. Those spots just came up in last 24 hours. I guess I can remove and redip see if it helps.I also thought AEFW only affected smooth skin acros?

I think the black spots are just retracted polyps... from what i see in pic... but then again it isnt too clear to tell if its bite marks. Everything else looks A+

Wrong. Millies are one of the AEFW's most favorite snacks.

I wouldn't dip again unless you have identified a pest, otherwise you're just going to stress out the coral more and kill it. To me the dark spots look like retracted polyps, not anything sinister.

Try to lower your salinity some, running at 1.027 is not making anything easier for the newly introduced coral.

Is the coral getting good flow? The polyps should be lightly dancing around in multiple directions every second or so.

I agree the black dots look like retracted polyps. I would watch the STN and if it continues either superglue the area or frag.

Thanks for info everyone. Wasn't sure what was going on my little green milli frag hasn't done that before or I never saw it
