?-Help,Metro or PraziPro easier on Wrasses?

I have a Rhomboid and Tanaka wrasse in a 10g QT at the moment, they arrived yesterday. I did 50minutes in formalin (5 gallon) and put them in the 10g QT.

I have approached them with food today and they showed interest, the Rhomboid ate pretty well actually, the Tanaka is shy.

Since their both in QT, they are both going to get the same treatment.

I have Prazi, Metro+, and Seachem Metro on hand.

Symptom: Large stringy white feces. I assume this is from the Rhomboid because of the size of it and the Tanaka is shy.

My thoughts is to try Prazi first and see if the symptoms go away as it's easier than metro, however, I have heard some wrasses don't do well with Prazi?

I don't have any experience with Metro+, but I have with Prazi-Pro. In my years I have gotten 6 wrasses and all 6 went through PP. 3 died, 2 loss their appetite, and 1 show no side effects at all. So I guess it can be hit or miss with wrasse and PP.

Well that sucks scooter.

I have both in a 10gallon, I gave them a good feeding of LRS that they took into pretty well. They already had a brine/mysis this morning.

I did a 4 gallon WC after the feeding. I am running a stone plus a sponge filter in that tank, so movement is good. I proceeded with 1ml of Prazi at 3pm today, going to go with another ml when I get back from tending to horses this afternoon. So far they are out and about.

I have read elsewhere that a lowered dose is appropriate for these fish. PP lists dosage at 2.5ml per gallon, so I figured 2.0ml per gallon might be safer.

My plan is to get these guys over formalin (done), through two doses of Prazi (day 1 and day 6), then to do TTM when my other 10 gallon is free. Regardless they will get their 8 weeks QT.

I have also read that Metro can cause liver issues and can be tricky as well with overdosing...so figured I would try what I have had history with.

Will report any findings, or lack of findings.

Well this morning threw in some LRS after lights on for 30 min. Both of them tore into it with enthusiasm and zest. No behavior changes, no physical changes to note.

I do think the rhomboid would benefit from multiple smaller feedings a day.

Since first dose was on the 1st, will probably dose 2nd on the 8th after a water change. From parameters using this calculator...
