Help! mrc mr1 skimmer question

I have had this skimmer for about 2 months and it has worked great, now all of a sudden it quit making bubbles( completley) when the water level gets up to where its supposed to be. I tried adjusting everything and im still not getting any bubbles in the chamber unless i lower the water level in the skimmer. any ideas or thoughts welcome.

do you have to take it off to clean it or is there another way? am i going to have to do this every 2 months? thanks

I clean my becketts every time I clean the cup. The becketts are very susceptable to salt buildup.

I would say cleaning the becketts once every two weeks is pretty standard.

ok well i didnt know that thanks to everyone for there input but one more question, once you get it out whats the BEST way to clean it?

I normally just cleaned them off with warm water. If they got really bad, I'd soak them in vinegar.

I would imagine you also know about changing out the cotton ball silencers every now and then too. There tends to be buildup inside that whole gate valve unit as well. They are more work than your standard needlewheel but they sure can produce when dialed in correctly.

I find that my beckett needs a cleaning once a year. I find the biggest problem in the venturi intake. MRC's are touchy little devils.
