Help my blue tort, ¿?

Why are you being so aggressive with your carbon? Your coral need some food, it wont survive in an ultra sterile environment.

Its a good point... Dont know why, I guess its just the way I learned... I'll cut down the rowa and leave to the vodka and if something creates PO4 the chaeto can take care of it

I dose vodka I am think its fine with out rowa. That's stuff is super high powered and works very well and super fast to fast. But the choice is always yours.

Here is the pic of the blue Tort. It is about the size of a tennis ball and looks better in person. Sorry for the large file size.

Resized the pic. Awesome coral Jim! I would love to see more pics of your tank and corals and get more info in general. Do you have a tank thread or would you consider posting some more background in a new thread? I see that your signature says 6 AI & T5
is that true? Are you using a mix?

Thanks for sharing,

Joe

Thanks Joe. I dont have many recent pics of the entire tank, However I could take care of that tonight. I only use the T5s for a couple hours a day. I have been cutting back on them more and more. They do add some color to the red birdsnest but Im not sure if they are really needed or not.

When I can get a bunch of pics together I will start a tank thread.

Very nice coral! Looks nice under de LEDs... I've been wondering if adding T5s to LED will enhance coloration in a way that you can really notice the difference...

Do you think coloration has been greatly enhanced by T5s Jim? or LEDs can maintain it?

Here is a pic of the fragged tort... Got home and couldnt get a decent pic, looks awful now that I look at it on the computer

I cant see your pic since the server here blocks out all photobucket photos. I will say T5s help a little bit in bringing out color that is alreadt there. They certainly do not "greatly enhance" formation of any new color. Most corals gain good color under LEDs its just that you cant always see it without a little help from a fiji pink bulb. Now with the available red LEDs built into the fixtures I see no reason to run T5s with a new fixture unless you want to. The only other reason I run T5s is I have them mounted in the sides of my canopy this helps light the sides and bottom of the coral better then LED or even the MH could.
