JK I would guess that he has a sickness that is no yet determined. Dose he have any spots? Dose he look normal? If he looks good then I would test the water and make sure he is eating, if hes not eating then you have a big problem.
I have had the fish for four days and did a partial water change yesterday. I tested the water the ph is 8.2, sg is 1.023 and it was 1.022 yesterday he is resting at the bottom now. I use a aquarium pharmasuticals filter on my tap water.
I ALSO HAVE A YELLOW DAMSEL THAT I HAVE HAD FOR ABOUT THREE WEAKS AND DOING GOOD SNAILS ARE ALL FINE CRABS ARE ALL FINE THIS IS MY THIRD CLOWN AND IT LASTED THE LONGEST AT FOUR DAYS STILL HAS NOT EATIN FOR ME HE DID EAT AT THE LFS JUST FINE I AM THINKING IF HE DIES I WILL STICK TO DAMSEL FISH FOR A WHILE TO LET MY TANK AGE AND GET USED TO THE HOBBY MORE
Are you buying tank raised clowns or True perc's. You damsel is a tank and will live through anything. I agree with sticking to damsels until you get more use to the hobby. they are cheap and cool to watch fight and eat. Your tank does need to age more, and you may want to try water from the LFS or make your own with RO/DI water instead of using tap.
