Help! My hammer is dying!

For the past few days my hammer has been melting away, is there any way to help it? Parameters seem to all be fine.

First of all get it off of the substrate and put it on a piece of rock so the skeleton is the only thing supporting it and the heads are free floating and have room for extension without touching anything. It just looks like it is retracted. How long have you had it? Would like to see better pic and water parameters. I there a brown like jelly on it?
